Edelvives Group is a publisher specialized in text books and literature for children and youth with a strong rooting in the Spanish market. It has 123 years of life, having been born from the network of schools of the religious Institute of the Hermanos Maristas. In the beginning it was limited to supply text books inspired by its educational principles to those schools. To date, they have seven publishers:

  1. Edelvives, specialized in Spanish books.

  2. Baula, Catalan books.

  3. Baula-Edelvives, Valencian books.

  4. Tambre, Galician books.

  5. Ibaizabal, Basque books.

  6. Alhucema, specialized in Spanish books, adapted to the Andalusian education system.

  7. 451 publishers, books for adults.

In addition, the company is linked to the NGO SED (Solidarity, Education and Development), which develops cooperation projects related to the education sector linked to the work of the Hermanos Maristas. "Until the 1980s, the work of Luis Vives was limited to its tradition of working for training centres linked to the order. However, the General Management had the vision that must compete with the rest of publishers specialized in text books and that had much to contribute in the world of children's and youth literature in Spanish. In this way, he started working with the modern distribution and large publisher’s distributors, which meant having to meet very demanding logistic conditions. That led to a redefinition of processes that explains the current operational management, which follows. As the corporate responsible for logistics of the enterprise, Víctor Botello Rivero, explains, the first big change was the radical transformation of the existing Logistics Department, responsible for the storage, distribution and internalization on the part of the work of printing that are not so far were externalized: "investing in media printing and manipulation was necessary before the growing demand of textbooks conformed by folders, modules, stickers, punched works, manipulative items, etc. which carry a logistic complexity that must be managed directly by the company to work in a flexible way towards the demands of internal and external customers and minimize costs".
