The automatic detection and classification system system works by means of optical sensors installed in the islets of toll or on the shelter, or else by contact sensors implemented in the pavement of toll lanes. Devices as optical curtains, treadles counting axles, treadles counting double wheels, loops and the scanner laser (non-intrusive optical technology), allow to measure different parameters depending on the location and configuration.
The identification of vehicles by measuring the physical parameters (height and width) carried out without human intervention. This system is very useful for the purposes of audit, payment process of toll, generating statistics and the “shadow toll” rate.
