Tecsidel starts its first project in Honduras

Tecsidel was awarded the first project in Honduras by the concessionaire COVIHonduras (Concesionaria Vial Honduras S.A de C.V.). This project consists of the supply, installation and commissioning of the Toll Collection System for 4 plazas of the CA-5 Norte road in Honduras. This road comprises Corredor Logístico Goascorán – Villa de San Antonio, and Tegucigalpa – Villa de San Antonio – San Pedro Sula – Puerto Cortés.

The renovation comprises 4 plazas:

• Zambrano: located at kilometer 37

• Siguatepeque: located at kilometer 112

• Yojoa: located at kilometer 183

• Lamani: exact location to be determined

There are 6 mixed lanes for each plaza, a total of 24 lanes, and the means of payment accepted are cash, credit card or TAGs. The proposal implemented by Tecsidel consists of a three-level toll system: lane, plaza and central system (Back Office), as well as a Customer Service Center (CAC), which allows the concessionaire to manage the issuance of TAGs and other electronic devices.

Tecsidel Toll System is designed to:

- Be safe and efficient.

- Enable the maximum control of procedures for collection, fraud and incident control.

- Operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption.

It is worth mentioning that COVIHonduras (www.covihonduras.com) is part of Hidalgo and Hidalgo, Construcción y Administración SA group; which are leading companies in providing engineering, construction, maintenance and infrastructure management services in countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Colombia and Honduras.

This renovation project on one of the main roads in Honduras implies an important improvement in the infrastructures of the municipalities involved.
