Tecsidel presents its STREET FLOW project on fifth of September in Mollerussa (Spain)

On Tuesday 5th of September at 10am, Mollerussa will host the most prominent institutions and companies in the urban mobility field to present the pilot project of STREET FLOW.

STREET FLOW is an experimental project of smart mobility that Tecsidel has performed with funding granted by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), which belongs to the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of Spain. It consists of a system installed on a single gantry that analyses the composition of vehicles that pass by, in order to classify and measure the vehicles, one by one.

The Mollerussa Town Hall and Tecsidel signed an agreement in the framework of Smart Catalonia Generalitat strategy to start the pilot STREET FLOW in June 2017 in this city of Lleida, in Smart Lab Zone.

The expected event will count on the participation of Mr. Marc Solsona, Mayor of Mollerussa, and Mr. Jordi Puigneró, Secretary of Telecommunications, Cyber-security and Digital Society of Catalonia. On the other hand, Tecsidel and i2cat will make various presentations to talk about STREET FLOW project, the connected vehicle and the mobility in the future. The attendees will be able to know in detail the operation of the system and the current data extracted by it. The event will end with the visit to the installation of the single gantry.

Attendees must confirm the assistance sending an email to streetflow@tecsidel.es

CREA BIG DATA, the new Tecsidel project

CREA-BIGDATA is an experimental development project that Tecsidel carries out individually with funding granted by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), under the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, in the context of Research and Development Projects (PID) that those center promotes (CDTI - EXP 00092054 / IDI-20160795)

The general goal of CREA-BIGDATA is the ICT platform development for the identification, analysis and exploitation of new models of urban and interurban mobility for citizens within the scope of re-using public sector information. This system will provide, from collection emulators and real-world operational information processed, services to be consumed potentially under Open Data, the new paradigm in data management.

The goals to be achieved will allow solving the mobility criticalities, by allowing models that will be characterized by:

• be more agile and aligned to reality, which will be solved by implementing simulators for generation, collection and processing operational information from various sources of real-world data.

• be rapidly adaptable to changes with shorter but dense time series of data, which involves the construction of a Big Data technology platform that will be powered by simulators of the previous specific objective.

• to have interactive, comprehensive and intelligible visualizations, which will be materialized with the elaboration of final services that will offer graphical visualization and navigation of the information contained in the platform Big Data.

• be useful for prognosis and for feeding other systems, which will be solved by developing additional services for decision making and planning, data analytics and prediction, as well as the structuring of data to be re-used under Open Data.

CREA-BIGDATA takes into account the main entry data of the mobility models to be processed from access control and payment systems in tolls and car parks, ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) sensors, lathes in Public transport (rail, subway, bus) and terminal transitions between cells of wireless cellular telephony networks, whose generation in the scope of the project will be carried out through simulators.

With CREA-BIGDATA final functionalities will be obtained for the treatment of mobility models to be applied in urban and interurban diagnosis, prognosis, decision-making and planning. These will be focused on real systems and networks refinement, considered as Data Source and undoubtedly linked to the mobility of citizens.
